We pride ourselves on our personal approach and as such request that you contact us directly for your personalised needs whether in store or online.

Online Prescriptions

We offer a full range of Prescription Services, whether you require Optical frames for helping you read the fine print, or your spectacles are the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night.

We can provide a complete range of lenses in both Clear and Sun from a standard 1.5 to an ultra-thin 1.74 with the options to add Blueshield, Gradient or Photochromic/Transition lenses as you wish.

As a guide our Prescription charges start at £80.00 for Single Vision lenses for reading or distance and £180.00 for Varifocal lenses.

All our lenses are Scratch Resistant as standard.

You will also find helpful information on our FAQ page. Alternatively feel free to contact our Practice Manager to discuss your needs either in-person, call or via email.

How to enquire
We will need to see a copy of your prescription. This must be:

- Less than 2 years old

- Include your full personal details: name and address

Pupillary distance
We will also need you to take a photograph of yourself with a ruler held above your brow. This allows us to measure your pupillary distance to ensure your prescription is properly applied to your lenses and set correctly over your pupils.

Here is an example of how your selfie needs to look: See here

Your head must be upright, eyes looking straight at the camera – try not to blink!

Remove any glasses you’re currently wearing and any hats, scarves or other accessories that may interfere with the image.

Upload your prescription & photo
Once you have located your prescription and managed to take a picture you’re happy with (don’t worry it’s not a model contest!) please upload them via the contact form. Click on the relevant icon and it will prompt you to upload the images from whichever device you have them loaded to. Make sure to include any contact details e.g. telephone number that may not be detailed on your prescription.

Lenses
We have an extensive range of prescription lenses which you can find detailed below. If you have any specific lenses in mind, include them in your message.

Cost
Our Practice Manager will receive both items and will either revert with a cost or contact you to discuss any details about your prescription or other aspects of your requirements to make sure we provide you with the best possible outcome.

Personalisation

Most wearers of spectacles wear them all day, every day. For those of us fortunate to be in sunnier climes the same can be said for Sunglasses. We want your frames to more than compensate for the inconvenience of short or longsightedness, not only in comfort and functionality, but also style. Eyewear is an instant style enhancer, and today we offer our archival, iconic designs with our personalisation service. Contact us to discuss your needs.

Tinted
We offer a variety of coloured lenses including blue, pink, yellow, brown, grey and green.

Gradient
These are dark profile lenses that fade down into a lighter transition through the lens. A good choice if it is important for others to see your eyeline during conversation. Available in grey and brown.

Polarised
High quality lenses that prevent over exposure of light into your eyes. They have a virtually invisible filter to eliminate the amount of reflecting light that enters the eye. They not only reduce glare, they make images appear sharper and clearer, increasing visual clarity and comfort. Available in grey, brown and green.

Transitional
Responsive lenses which change tone depending on light exposure. They darken in the sunlight and lighten in softer light or the dark.

Nose Pads
Adhesive stick on nose pads to our acetate frames comfort and fit, particularly suited for low bridge/nose crest clients.

Variable Lens Weight
Ultra thin lenses suitable for higher prescriptions. These are tailored to you to ensure a comfortable weight and fit.

Lenses

All our frames are fitted with non-prescription lenses which are ready to wear and can be changed by a local optician if required. We can also tailor the type of lens you need for your prescription or computer work. Contact us to discuss your needs.

Single vision distance
Lenses that will aid and correct your depth of perception for far sight.

Single vision reading
Lenses that will aid and correct your depth of perception for near sight ie full arms length or close proximity.

Blueshield or Computer lenses are non-prescription lenses with UV protection (BLF) available for personalisation of every Curry & Paxton optical frame. Blueshield prevents UV penetration through the lens, preventing eye strain or over exposure to light reducing the likelihood of eye fatigue, migraines and headaches.
